This multi award winning compact front garden is simply bursting with plant life and was the result of delivering the clearly defined brief from the client who now proudly maintains the garden to the highest level of care and expertise. The brief was a modern take on a cottage garden without experiencing the winter down time of a garden with too many perennials.
In response to this we went about the task of carefully selecting modern material alternatives on the old cobble style paving with the use of Filetti cobbles providing a soft informal pathway to the front porch. To add to this an eclectic mix of tried and tested solid performing plants as well the introduction of plants such as lomandra, scenecio and clipped spheres of Buxus, Westringia and Teucrium traditionally not found in a cottage garden ensure all year interest with colour, form, texture and foliage. When these non traditional plants are combined with the tried and tested Gardenias, Murrayas, Lambs ears, liriopes, Salvia, Mondo grasses and ajugas, this beautiful little front garden sits in perfect harmony with the home’s facade and is one the client and all of us at COS are very proud of.
