Our Camberwell Project, awarded Silver at the Landscape Design Institute Awards 2025, beautifully balances heritage character with contemporary lifestyle needs. Designed to deliver on an extensive client brief, the landscape seamlessly connects the traditional bungalow frontage with the modern rear extension, while creating highly functional outdoor spaces for a young family.
The design incorporates a raised pool, spa, sun lounges, and an elevated lawn that provides both play space for children and a sense of openness. Thoughtful level transitions reduced the scale of retaining walls while cleverly doubling as additional seating areas. The alfresco entertaining zone flows effortlessly into the garden, with lush underplanting and floating steps enhancing the connection between levels.
In the front garden, canopy trees shape a shaded microclimate, inspiring a lightweight bench designed to protect existing roots, complemented by a water bowl feature and traditional planting. A disguised turning circle functions as both vehicle access and an elegant entry court, blending practicality with charm.
This award-winning garden exemplifies cohesion and timeless design, honouring the past while embracing modern family living. The result is a seamless and inviting landscape that reflects both the architecture and the lifestyle of its owners.
